About Tabriz Rugs
Hand knotted in the North Western town of Tabriz, which is considered to be the rug capital of Iran. Some of the finest rugs in the world are from this city and Tabriz rugs are often referred to as Persian Masterpieces. They range widely in both color and design. The most popular is the Mahi (fish) design which can either have the central medallion or be an all over pattern. These rugs are woven using fine wool and silk. Due to the popularity of this rug, it is continuously reproduced in China, India and Pakistan.
